Students will work closely with a university professor for about 10 weeks on a research project. The outcome is typically a conference presentation or a journal publication.

A research project aims to systematically investigate a specific topic or question to uncover new knowledge, confirm existing knowledge, or solve a problem. It involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to contribute to a specific field of study.

Here are some key purposes of research projects:

  • Advance knowledge: Uncover new information, explain existing phenomena, or challenge current understanding.
  • Solve problems: Develop solutions to practical issues in various fields.
  • Inform policy and practice: Provide evidence-based insights to inform decision-making.
  • Develop skills: Enhance critical thinking, analytical skills, and research methodologies.

Directed Research and Personalized Research Projects
Projects

Collaborate on a research initiative under the guidance of a faculty advisor. The selection of the research topic is driven by shared interests between students and faculty members. The primary objective is to showcase the findings at a conference and/or publish them in a reputable journal. Each research project is limited to one, two, or a maximum of three students. During a minimum of ten sessions, students will actively engage with their faculty advisor in the pursuit of meaningful research outcomes.
